HPS has an Angel Tree in the office lobby. The tree will be up until Monday, December 16th.
How It Works:
If you would like to give back to the HPS community during this holiday season, simply visit the office lobby and take an "ornament" from the tree. White angels are for children, yellow stars are for classrooms. Each ornament has a letter or number on the back. Please wrap all gifts and write that letter/number on each gift. Please drop off the labelled gifts to the main office no later than Tuesday, December 17th.
Hillsdale Preparatory School will continue to operate on a regular schedule for the remainder of the instructional day. However, due to road conditions, parents are advised to use their discretion when picking up students. All after school activities will be cancelled for today. This includes the boys' basketball game and tutoring. The after school program will not be staffed this afternoon. Students that are not picked up by 3:30 may remain in the office until parents are available to pick them up. Please call the office with questions.
Field Trip Reminders:
-Students should arrive to school in uniform
-All students should arrive with a packed lunch.
-Students requiring booster seats should bring them when they are dropped off in the morning.
-Chaperones should arrive by 9:45 and meet in the HPS gymnasium.
Tomorrow is the school wide field trip to Hillsdale College for the women's basketball game. Students should arrive to school in the morning with a sack lunch. There will be NO pizza tomorrow. Students are expected to be in uniform. Upon returning to school after the game, students will resume regularly scheduled activities.
If your child is required by law to be in a booster seat, please send it to school with your child when they are dropped off in the morning.
Chaperones should arrive by 9:45 and meet in the gym to be assigned a group of students.
The Parent Advisory Committee will be meeting tonight at 5:30pm. We will be discussing upcoming events such as the Thanksgiving brunch and Santa's Secret Shop. Come on out and get involved!
School pictures were passed out to classrooms yesterday. If they did not come home yesterday they should come home today. If you placed a spirit wear order that should also come home today.
The flyer for the Fall Formal was sent home in the November packet. Please return the form along with your money to be added to the list of people attending. Extra forms are in the office. Hope to see you there!

The school-wide field trip to Hillsdale College will be on Friday, November 8th. Permission slips must be turned in by Monday 11/4 in order for your child(ren) to attend. Students will be transported by selected chaperones and Hillsdale Prep staff.
Children under the age of 8 are required by law to ride in a booster seat. It is the responsibility of parents to send their child's booster seat in on the day of the trip. Extra booster seats will NOT be available, so please plan accordingly.
Tomorrow is popcorn Friday.
Report cards are being sent home with each student today. Every child should have their own report card in their backpack. If you do not receive a report card please let the office know.
We will have a booth at the Hillsdale County ISD's Fall Fest tonight. It is in the merchant building at the fair grounds from 4:00-6:30. We hope to see you there!
Don't forget all clipped Box Tops are due by the end of the day tomorrow. Make sure to download the new Box Tops App to continue earning money for HPS. It is as simple as scanning your receipt after you grocery shop. Once you have scanned the receipt it detects any Box Tops earned and adds it to the yearly total. If you need help with the App stop in the office and we will show you how easy it is.
Tomorrow is casual day, popcorn day and bottle drop off day. If you are willing to donate your returnable cans and bottles to the 8th grade trip please drop them off in the office. Donations will be accepted all day.
The power is back on so the phones are now working.
Hillsdale Prep is currently without power. We are just going to resume class as normal until the end of the day. Bathrooms are in working order. However, due to the power outage we do not have a phone. You can contact Miss Melody via email if you need anything. We will see everyone for dismissal at 3:15.
On Friday, November 8 we have been invited by the Women's Basketball Team at Hillsdale College to attend Kids' day. A permission slip for this school-wide field trip is coming home today. We will be calling people off of the approved volunteer list to transport students to this event. If you do not receive a call and would like to attend you can meet us at the college where you will have to purchase a ticket to enter. Students will arrive at the college around 10:15 and be there for the duration of the basketball game.
There will be a change to the 2019-20 school calendar. December 2nd will now be a day off for students for professional development. March 9th will now be a full day of school for students.
An updated school calendar will be sent home with your child in November packets. The updated calendar is also available on our website.
If you signed up to donate items for the Fall Fest, please make sure that items are dropped off to the office by 3:30 today. (If you are donating cupcakes and plan to drop off tomorrow, please notify the office so that we can ensure we have the proper count).
