We are seeing so many families taking on the challenge of providing learning opportunities to their students at home. Below is a link from Grand Valley State University's Charter School Office with a variety of amazing resources for parents. Many of the activities on the site do not require internet access. This page will be updated each week on Friday with new activities and resources. Check it out! https://sites.google.com/view/gvsufamilyresources/home

Ok HPS, let's get our trivia on! Any grade level can participate. Parents of younger students, you may help them research to find the answers . Every student of each family can submit an answer on one response or altogether (if that works for the parents). Mrs. Comstock and I were talking, before this time off, how much we enjoy trivia. Therefore, I am going to send out a trivia question for you to answer. Please send responses to my email: ginger.russell@hillsdaleprep.org. I will check your answers and give you the actual answer the next day. Please do not respond here with the answer to allow others time to respond as well. If people play along, I will keep it going. Good luck, and let's stretch and/or share our knowledge base! I look forward to hearing from all of you! Question of the day: Who invented what we know as "school" ?

At this time we have cancelled the March 24 Board Meeting. We will announce the rescheduled date as soon as possible.

Hillsdale Preparatory School knows that all parents aren’t used to being teachers too. We also know that worksheets don’t provide the full experience of an education. That’s why each teacher will be posting weekly ways to supplement your child’s learning while at home. Additionally, you will see posts about what the staff are doing with their own children! Check out our Facebook page daily to see these opportunities and interact with your child’s teacher by commenting on the posts or connecting through email. Although we are apart, we are still a family and will get through this time together!

We would like to challenge all HPS students to submit a video of them reading a book and we will post the video on our Facebook page. The videos can be emailed to Miss Melody (melody.henthorne@hillsdaleprep.org). All students who submit a video will receive one entry into the March is Reading month bike giveaway. This will be a great way to continue our love of literacy and stay connected with each other. We look forward to seeing your videos!

We will postpone the reading of our One Book, One School. We will resume reading My Side of the Mountain and a new reading schedule will be provided once school is back in session. Now is a great time to get caught up on the reading if you haven't had a chance to read with your families!

The learning packet is expected to be completed during the closure and returned to your child's teacher when school reopens. Students who did not attend school today will have their packets mailed. As we gain information we will be sharing it through our normal communication system.
